Ms. Barbara
Barclay is the General Manager of Tobii Inc. North America. Tobii Technology is the
global market leader in hardware and software solutions for eye tracking and
gaze interaction. Their products are widely used within the scientific
community and in commercial market research and usability studies, as well as
by disabled people as a means to communicate. Tobii also drives integration of
eye tracking technology in a vast number of other areas, offering OEM
components for integration into various industry applications such as arcade
games, diagnostics, automotive safety and 3D displays
Dr. Helen Abadzi is a Senior
Education Specialist at Global Partnership for Education of The World Bank. Ms
Abadzi joined our advisory board to help direct us with the literacy market.
She has special interest in teaching illiterate adults to read, helping low
income children learn to read, and in helping Arabic readers (who suffer with
visual crowding problems more than readers of other languages). She has two
PhD’s, speaks 20 languages, and is the author of many books and articles on
relevant topics. She will advise SeeMore on literacy and ways our technology
can be improved to help special populations.
Dr. David Marks is the Director of Educational Outreach for the
Institute for Learning and Academic Achievement at the NYU Child Study Center.
He specializes in Learning Disabilities, Dyslexia, ADHD,
and Disruptive Behavior Disorders. He conducts and supervises comprehensive neuropsychological
evaluations of children, adolescents, and adults with learning disorders,
developmental disabilities, and neurological conditions. Dr. Marks routinely
consults with teachers and school-based support teams, and assists parents and
teachers with the implementation of home- and school-based interventions. He will advise
SeeMore on learning and reading disorders.
Dr. Denis Pelli is a Professor
of Psychology and Neural Science at the School of Arts and Sciences at NYU. He
specializes in vision science and is interested in object recognition and
reading. He is recognized as one of the leading authorities on visual crowding.
Dr. Pelli is famous for his
contributions to the fields of visual sensitivity, letter identification and
object recognition. He has over 50 publications. He will guide SeeMore’s
R&D regarding vision science.
Dr. Chris Bregler is a Professor of Computer Science at NYU’s Courant Institute and
is the director of the NYU Movement Lab. He has worked at Stanford, Hewlett
Packard, Interval, Disney, and Lucas Film. He has won awards from the NSF,
Sloan Foundation, Packard Foundation, Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Google, the
U/S/ Navy, the U.S. Airforce and more. His motion capture research and
commercial projects in science and entertainment have resulted in numerous
publications, patents and awards. He received the Olympus Prize for
achievements in computer vision and pattern recognition and was awarded the IEEE
Longuet-Higgins Prize for “Fundamental Contributions in Computer Vision that
have withstood the test of time.” He will advise SeeMore on
eye-tracking, computer science and industry.
Dr. Davi Geiger is an Associate
Professor of Computer Science and Neural Science at NYU’s Courant Institute. He specializes in computer vision. He
received an NSF Career Award in 1998. He is well versed in mathematical
algorithms and also happens to be dyslexic. He will help to guide SeeMore’s
software development, and give important insights into dyslexia.
Mr. Jason Keramidas is the Director
of Product Management at Everyday Health and Co-Founder of Good Company
Ventures. He has extensive experience evaluating and assisting pre-seed stage
technology companies with financial modeling, business planning and
presentations. He will help SeeMore navigate the early stage technology market.
Mr. Martin Sharkey is the founder and Principal at 3Points Marketing.
He has also served as a Marketing Manager at Nestle and a vice-president of
marketing at iSold It. He has been in the field of brand marketing for over 15
years and has experience in all aspects of business and consumer marketing. He
will guide SeeMore’s marketing strategy.
